Irish Poems Recital

Hi folks! Welcome to a new entry of this learning journal. Did you know that last month the 17th of March was Saint Patrick's Day? Let me tell you a bit more about this festivity.  Saint Patrick's Day is a really big party for everything to do with the country, Ireland. Its people, art, religion and all the things Irish people like to do. This special day happens every year on March, 17, which marks the date when Saint Patrick, a catholic priest in charged of spreading the Christian word.  You might be wondering why I am telling you all these things. Well, in my school in Mars we are immersed on a radio- project related to Irish Poems. We have created a podcast in which students participate actively introducing themselves for a later on activity to podcast recitals of Irish poems. What it is very important is the use of ICTs in these kind of activities. Through the tool Soundcloud , we engage students to upload their own recordings in order to make a collection

Experiencing #twima8

Hi folks! Welcome once again to my planet Marsh. We are all so excited about making new friends from all over the Milky Way. Our planet is immersed on a project about meeting people from other planets and we have been invited to participate in a share experience network. Would you like to know more about it? Let's keep reading! And this awsome app is... chan chan chan... Flipgrid . This app is a social learning platform that allows teachers to interact and communicate with other teachers and students using videos. The proposal of the app is an open concept to find creative teaching ways to interact and share experiences with the students and other educational staff members.  I am going to tell you how I felt taking part in this project with other teachers. Well, I am participating in a share- project  that is being carried out through Flipgrid. The project is called #twima8 (The world is my audience, 8 edition). This project was firstly launched by a teacher with the ide

Storyboard a video project

Hi folks! How are things going in The Earth? Here in Marsh we are all having a super duper week celebrating the World Book Day! As you know, the 23rd of April was the international day of the book. On April 23, 1616, Cervantes, Shakespeare and Garcilaso de la Vega died. Also on 23rd April, other important writers such as Maurice Druon, K. Laxness, Vladimir Nabokov, Josep Pla or Manuel Mejía Vallejo were born or died. This is the main reason there is a special day in our calendars on 23rd April.  I was telling you this because the other day, we were in class working on past times and how people were prevented from reading books about politics. My students got shocked when they found out that women could not read at all any kind of books years ago. So I decided to dedicate some of my time to work on Micromachism nowadays in our daily lives.  Micromachism is a hidden form of gender violence that include strategies, gestures, things, acts of everyday life that are subtle, almo

Online attendance to webinar

Hi folks! Welcome to a new entry of the blog called mobile learning and digital competence for education. I will tell you a bit in detail what I am taking about.  As you know, I am Martic, I am a teacher in Marsh and the communication between The Earth and our planet is constantly flowing. Therefore, I have attended to an online conference for teachers about digital competence and how to cope with it as teachers. Here you can find the website the conference was held. We were attending to the webinar with other students from the Digital Learning (Universiat de Barcelona).  I found out many interesting things related to the digital competence and how to be a XXI century teacher. These courses are designed by proffesionals of the educational field who work from INTEF . INTEF is the website where you could find further information about the different courses online you can attend.  The most appealing aspect about the conference, at least, from my point of view, is the possi

Creating a comic

Hi folks! How are you going? I hope you are enjoying this wonderful Marsh platform and you are learning new things to apply in your classroom. Well, today we are going to talk about comics and their use in primary lessons. Comics are great sources to present content in a meaningful and visual way. They offer endless possibilities so as to catch students' attention.  We have been exploring the app PIXTON  during these last months. It has been a surprising experience since we, the teachers as well as the students, have learnt many things of comics and their features. Pixton is a website in which you can create your own comics and share them with your friends, on your blog, etc. Pixton offers a wide spectrum of possibilities, characteristics and features to apply on each vignette. Let's disseminate its parts: Pixton gives you the chance to choose different backgrounds, accessories, characters and its appearance, types of letter, size, etc. From the point of view of
